Michael’s vision was the inspiration behind Safety Works, he set the company up and single handily gained ISO21001:2018 certification for Safety Works, moved on and became an ECITB Approved Learning and is now branching out the services Safety Works offer to include a larger footprint within the SE Asia, Africa and the Middle Eastern regions.
Michael commissioned, designed and set up a Learning Management System through which Safety Works now offer world beating online training. Michael wrote and uploaded various drone e-Learning courses, the latter to the UK Governmental accreditation and qualifications authorities Training Standards, the ECITB – Engineering, Construction, Industry Training Board – Industrial Drone Operations course.
Safety Works are currently, as of November 2020, the only company to offer the ECITB Industrial Drone Operations course, where Michael wrote the materials for the 5 day face to face ground school, a 3 Day Blended Learning course and a certified e-Learning ECITB course. All of which contain both the UK & Thai CAA’s commercial drone pilot course and a 6 course – mega series – aimed at the start-up to intermediate commercial drone pilot.
As an A1 Assessor, IQA & EQA Qualified with a B.Ed. & Qualified Teacher Status, obtained from British University, Michael is s success story of vocational training, starting work at 16 as an Apprentice Sheetmetal Fabricator Welder before working his way through qualifying as an O&G Production Operator and then moving into training management & design.
As a Graduate Member of IOSH (GRAD.IOSH) Michael also offers Health, Safety, Security & Environmental Compliance Reporting, Hazard Identification, Onsite Safety Training and Interventions, Safety Management Systems & Internal Safety Audits.
Michael is the business owner and director of Safety Works. He established Safety Works to:
Provide UK accredited training and services to upskill local nationals
Provide upskilling of nationals via Certified e-Learning and Blended Learning Solutions
Provide services of the highest standards in health, safety, security, environment and enable knowledge transfer via competency assurance, QA/QC, learning & development and management
Ensure business partners and customers have the ‘tools and equipment” to maximise their return on investment whether that be in people or systems
Have a company that is serious about standards and performance and open to new technology
Be flexible enough to support and recruit skilled and competent staff and consultants for contracts anywhere in the world
Be the conduit for best practice training & development in the oil & gas industry.
Michael has in the past represented Safety Works as Lead Consultant on the EU Funded Ejada Project in Iraq. He was instrumental in designing & implemented an Oil & Gas industry competency-based training programme for the Iraqi Ministry of Oil.
Michael holds various qualifications in vocational education & training. He is a SME in HSSE; a graduate member of IOSH; a qualified assessor and auditor.
