How do I take the course?
The theoretical part of the course is available online to take at your leisure. The e-Learning IDO is ECITB certified as a standalone course in it’s own right.
Then there is a 3 day face to face session where we train you to the knowledge learned and test you.
If you are already an Industrial Drone Pilot with experience then you can go straight on the 1 Day Assessment / Renewal
We also offer a 5 day face to face course without the need for the online training. Although as a part of the course we will give you access to the online learning and documentation.
How is the course delivered?
With the Blended Learning, 3 Day Course, we have 2 training scenarios where we walk and talk you through everything that is required to pitch for industrial work, risk assess the work, check NOTAMs, weather, capture plans, HSE at Work, PTW, Gas Testing, Data Protection, Flight Management, Planning….. The list goes on – To give you a feel to amount of training materials the Online set of notes, videos, documents, and Industry relevant documentation are close on 8Gb of data.
We try to steer clear of PowerPoint presentations and train by actually taking you to site, conducting show and tells, showing you how to apply your knowledge and then step back as you plan, risk assess, search NOTAMs, present your results.
In the afternoons we will fly. We will practice the flight drills that you are required to demonstrate and also carryout the training scenarios.
If you are already qualified, have vast experience within industrial drone flights or conducting a renewal then there is also a 1 Day Course which is the same as the final day of the Blended Course >>>
On the final test day you have to plan an industrial flight, present your flight plans, fly the flight, present your data.
You will also have a 50 question theory test based upon all the theory learned.
Also, in ATTI / Height Mode, you will show your flying skills by flying 9 flight drills.
